Hardware Technical Specialist
About the role
As Hardware Technical Specialist you will play a crucial role in the Product Development team designing and implementing cutting-edge hardware solutions for our revolutionary technology called SDC, which is a game-changer for DC fast charging.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the design and development of electrical and electronic hardware systems, ensuring they meet project specifications, safety standards and regulatory requirements.
- You will work closely with cross-functional teams, mentoring a team of hardware engineers and working with other technical specialists, to ensure designs are optimised from a mechanical and thermal perspective.
- Prepare detailed technical documentation, including specifications, schematics, and design reports, ensuring the documentation is comprehensive, accurate and organised.
- Ensure verification and validation documents meet design requirements.
Key Requirements:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field.
- Substantial experience in a Senior Engineering role, with a track record of successfully leading electrification projects.
- You will be skilled in appropriate design and analysis software tools that may include Cadence / Altium.
- You will have a passion for innovation and the development of exceptional EV products.
- Be experienced in hardware development, likely to have been gained within an automotive, aerospace or consultancy environment.
- Be experienced of high power and high voltage design.
- High speed design, EMC, analogue, digital and power electronics.
- Experience of working to functional safety IEC 61508 or ISO 26262.
- Knowledge of the safe use of relevant HV test equipment.
- Strong knowledge of legislative requirements.
- Familiarity with relevant industry standards and regulations.
- Exceptional team-leading, problem-solving and analytical skills.
